Conversion method

All values are normalized through bytes. A byte is 8 bits; decimal kB, MB, and GB use powers of 1,000, while binary KiB, MiB, and GiB use powers of 1,024.

Decimal units use powers of 1,000; binary units such as KiB and MiB use powers of 1,024.
