Equal placement chance
A Fisher–Yates shuffle rearranges the full list. Each unique participant has the same chance of occupying any position when browser cryptography is available.
One appearance each
Blank lines are ignored and exact duplicate names are combined, so the output contains each parsed entry once. Add a distinguishing label when two people share a name.
Shareable lists
Copying a link places the participant list in its query string. That is convenient for reusable rosters, but URLs should not contain private or sensitive information.
