Controls and results explained

Browser and system

Shows the detected browser and version, rendering engine, operating system, device class or model, and platform. Detection uses browser-provided identifiers and may be generalized by privacy protections.

Display and viewport

Viewport is the current page area; Screen is the browser-reported display size; Available screen excludes reserved system areas. Native resolution is estimated from screen size multiplied by device pixel ratio.

Pixel ratio, depth, gamut, orientation

Pixel ratio explains high-density scaling. Color depth and gamut describe available color precision and range. Orientation reports the browser's current screen orientation and updates when supported.

Input and hardware

Maximum touch points, pointer precision, and hover support describe input. Logical processors, approximate memory, and CPU architecture are capability hints—rounded or hidden on many browsers, not hardware benchmarks.

Locale and preferences

Language list and time zone reflect browser or system configuration. Color scheme, reduced motion, and contrast show accessibility and appearance preferences websites can adapt to.

Connection and page context

Online status, connection type, effective network class, estimated downlink and round-trip time are browser hints, not a speed test. Data Saver, cookie availability, and secure context describe the current browser and page.

Understanding the user-agent string

The user-agent string is the legacy identification text sent with requests. It is useful in support logs, but it can be frozen, reduced, or spoofed and should not be treated as definitive hardware identification.

Live updates

Viewport, orientation, online state, and connection hints refresh when the browser reports a change. Resize the window, rotate the device, or change networks to watch supported values update.

Copy or download report

The prepared plain-text report includes the core environment categories and is easier to attach to a bug or support request. Review it first, because it may contain details you do not want to share publicly.

Values marked "Not exposed"

Modern browsers deliberately hide or round some device details to limit fingerprinting. "Not exposed" means the browser will not report it here, not that the device lacks the feature.

Approximate hardware hints

Memory and network figures are rounded hints rather than measurements. For real throughput, use the internet speed test instead.

Practical tips for better results

  • Include the user-agent line when you report a compatibility problem — it identifies the exact build.
  • Private or hardened browsing modes report fewer details on purpose.
  • CSS pixels and device pixels differ on high-density screens; the pixel ratio explains the gap.

Why does my screen size look wrong?

Screen size is reported in CSS pixels. On a high-density display the native resolution is the CSS size multiplied by the pixel ratio, which is shown alongside it.

Why is my browser name unexpected?

Browsers built on Chromium often report a Chrome-based user-agent string, and privacy features can deliberately report a different one. The rendering engine line is usually the more reliable signal.
