Monophonic listening

Play a single clear note. Chords, strong room noise, and overlapping strings can prevent stable pitch detection.

Cents

One semitone is 100 cents. Within about five cents of the target is shown as in tune.

Private microphone use

The input is connected only to an analyser and is never routed to speakers, recorded, or sent to a server.

Practical tips for better results

Let the attack settle, then tune from a sustained note.
For string instruments, mute the other strings to reduce sympathetic vibration.

Does the Instrument Tuner upload my input?

No. The work happens locally in the current browser tab. Closing or refreshing the page clears temporary input unless you save the result yourself.

Can results differ in another browser or device?

They can. Browser engines, display settings, hardware capabilities, and supported file formats may affect the final result.
